Abstract
The paper provides in brief the theoretical review of photon crystals. The paper considers the photon crystals classification based on spatial layout of the allowed and forbidden bands in a crystal structure, and behavior of the light signal corresponding to a certain spatial layout. The authors consider most known methods of photon crystals receiving and perspectives of photon crystals application.
