Abstract
The article discusses ways to improve equipment of engineer troops, contributing to the increasing mechanization of the excavation, increase the volume and pace of engineering tasks. As shown in the course of development of domestic engineering enterprises in the first half of the twentieth century was the improvement of the working equipment of special machines that allow you to develop soils of different categories.
